This is the most simple and beneficial health transition you can make. Do sweet the right way without the health hazards or weight gain with these amazing sweeteners. They all offer unique taste, flavors and nutritional profiles.

Coconut Sugar

Comes from the flower buds of the coconut trees it’s the most natural and pure in terms of sugar, you can consume. It’s very low glycemic making it safe for diabetics and those with insulin resistance. Coconut palm sugar has a high mineral content. It’s particularly high in potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. It’s also a natural source of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and C.

It doesn’t affect blood sugar levels in any way. It also provides many plant nutrients known as phytochemicals. Make sure you don’t get the stevia that comes in a white powder, that’s an extract and has been highly processed. Get the whole leaf green powder stevia, which is made with the pure stevia, leaves, no fillers or binders. Stevia is a non-carbohydrate sweetener, may assist in weight loss. It’s a non-glycemic food and contains nearly zero calories. Use it for baking, elixirs, smoothies, and raw recipes.


Dates are like nature’s candy. Need I say more?! They are rich in dietary fiber, iron, potassium, manganese, copper, and magnesium. Dates provide about 23 calories per date, they are calorically dense so you don’t need too much as they are satisfying and oh so sweet.


Lucuma powder is made from the exotic lucuma fruit native to the Andes. This Peruvian fruit is so versatile and highly recognized in the culinary world. Lucuma is high in antioxidants, has a healthy dose of carbohydrates, minerals, fiber and other nutrients such as calcium, iron, beta-carotene, niacin, zinc, and B vitamins.
